An island event: plan trailer transport before the finishing touches

Hospitality on a Greek island may involve suppliers arriving from several different places. For a toilet trailer, transport and venue access are part of the equipment decision. Rainbow’s collection serves events in mainland Greece and the islands, but each enquiry needs an assessment of dates, the route and local conditions. A photograph of the final position is not enough to plan the complete journey.

Send a precise location and operating programme

At first contact, include the island, the event location and the hours when facilities are required. Separate the start of the celebration from the time suppliers may enter. If use spans several days, provide the complete programme. Model availability and transport feasibility are considered together; selecting a photograph from the collection is not a booking confirmation.

Review the route from the port to the final position

The difficult point may come well before the venue gate: a tight turn, a low passage or an approach without room to manoeuvre. Send photographs and local observations from someone familiar with the route. Where measurements are requested, they should describe actual openings and available space, not an estimate from a map. The technical plan also needs to account for the transport vehicle.

Confirm transport before committing the installation space

Where a sea crossing is required, it needs to be coordinated with the actual sailing arrangements and equipment details. Let the team check the transport information relevant to its equipment, and agree who organises each part of the journey. Also discuss how a schedule change would be handled and what preparation time is needed. There is no single arrival time or standard transport cost that applies to every destination.

Confirm who will receive the trailer on site

The local contact needs the same final plan as the organiser and supplier. They should know the position, available utilities, guest route and which other suppliers will be working at the same time. The autonomy of a model such as Saronis does not remove the need for access assessment or care arrangements. Keep the agreed position clear until installation is complete.

Connect the return journey to the end of use

Collection needs as much attention as arrival. Clarify when use ends, when the gate opens and when furniture or equipment that could block the exit will be removed. Ask for the unit, agreed period, transport and support services to be set out in the quote. With that information, the trailer can be included in the overall supplier schedule rather than treated as a final unresolved detail.

Keep these notes

  • Island, precise location and operating hours
  • Photographs of the complete access route
  • Transport coordination and handling schedule changes
  • A local contact with the final layout
  • A clear exit and agreed collection arrangements
