A party at home: comfort and privacy for your guests

A party at home has different requirements from an event at a purpose-built venue. The kitchen may be serving the caterer, some rooms may remain private, and guests may move between the garden, dining area and music. A luxury toilet trailer can become part of that plan once access, positioning and operation have been assessed. The starting point is the particular property and the programme of the celebration.

Separate private rooms from the guest route

Mark which areas will be available to guests and which will stay private. The route to the restrooms should be easy to understand from the welcome area and tables, without passing through bedrooms, preparation areas or supplier unloading points. If permanent toilets will also remain in use, identify them and explain whom they serve. This gives guests clear choices without repeatedly interrupting the host.

Check the entrance before choosing a model

A gate that admits a passenger car is not enough information to assess access for a towing vehicle and trailer. Provide photographs of the approach, turns, gate and final position, with measurements where requested. Mention slopes, low branches, parked vehicles or areas that cannot be used. Chelsea has a compact layout with a separate WC and washbasin in each section, but its suitability cannot be decided from the size of the garden alone.

Choose a discreet position that guests can find

The entrance need not face the main dining table, but it should not disappear behind stored equipment either. Leave room in front of the steps and avoid directing a waiting area into a service route. Review the position after sunset: the trailer lighting does not replace lighting along the whole path. Plants or a decorative screen can be discussed as part of the setting, while keeping entrances and access clear.

Give practical care a clear point of contact

The host is not always available to monitor supplies and cleanliness during the celebration. Decide who will contact the team, who will oversee the facilities and which services have been requested. Care packages address presentation and agreed amenities; staff attendance, maintenance and transport should also be described in the proposal. Keep these arrangements alongside the catering and music schedule so responsibilities remain clear throughout the evening.

Plan collection before the party begins

After the party, the same route may be blocked by furniture, vehicles or equipment waiting for collection. Agree when different suppliers will leave and who will open the gate. Include the date, operating hours, guest numbers, area, access photographs and available utilities in the initial enquiry. The final quote can then reflect how the property will actually operate, rather than relying on the broad description “a garden party”.

Keep these notes

  • Which indoor areas will remain private?
  • Photographs of the gate, turns and final position
  • A lit route and clear entrance space
  • A named point of contact and agreed services
  • A collection schedule with an unobstructed exit
